Promotion Ideas

1. Create a display to incorporate the additional resources included in this site, as well as any others you feel would benefit learners.  Set up books and cds for patrons to browse through.  In order for patrons to learn about Livemocha and the Web 2.0 tools, try to incorporate a computer into the display, or have one nearby.  This way, visitors can start exploring and look through the library's catalog for more items. Additionally, you may want to create a graph of some sort to display the Livemocha progress of group members. This will encourage patrons and perhaps inspire them to get involved.
2.  Create posters that promote your library's Spanish language learning club or activities, and place these throughout the library.
3.  Create pamphlets that highlight Livemocha and the other tools and resources from this site.  These can be placed at circulation and reference desks, and within the display you create.
4.  Be sure that your library's web developer incorporates all of this information into your library's home page.
5.  Lastly, schedule classes in the library to show your patrons how to use Livemocha - let them know how wonderful it is - what better way to promote than that? If possible, hold these in a computer lab so that each user can sit in front of their own computer and really get a hands-on experience. Go over the basics of it, and also how and why they might want to supplement their learning experience with Zoho Planner and babelwithme. Be sure to also inform them of the additional resources and how and where they can find even more materials.
